Copy is more important than design

I hate to admit it, but it’s true. If you’re designing a website, have the content strategy and copy first and design only to support and enhance it.

A lot of clients I work with want to get the design first and fill it out with their words later. It shouldn’t work this way because good marketing copy is the core of every website.

You can work with your client or copywriter and help put together a content strategy during the discovery phase of the project, but try to get the final copy before designing any mockups
